SASS Teacher Training 2017

 

Safe & Sound Preventative Self Defense Seminar is a unique program that combines verbal and non-verbal communication and awareness skills with simple self-defense techniques that empowers women and men to live their lives freely, powerfully and safely.

This 30 hour training program will prepare and certify you to teach the Safe & Sound Preventative Self Defense Seminar.

Included in your training is a manual and a digital copy of the video used in the workshop.

Module I: The Interview

Facilitate a conversation that distinguishes the cues that typically occur in conversations that precede an attack and teach participants how to avoid being a victim.

First Session- 9:30am–12:30pm

Study Break/Lunch: 12:30pm-2:00pm

Second Session- 2:00pm–5:00pm

Group Presentation Practice/Feedback

 

Module III: The Gateway

Learn basic and effective release-and-run self defense techniques that are easy to practice as well as fundamentals of striking and targeting.

First Session- 9:30am–12:30pm
Wrist grab, best striking practices, targets, natural weapons, “tantrum,” grab from behind.
The Getaway: Self Defense Practice

Study Break/Lunch: 12:30pm-2:00pm

Second Session- 2:00pm–5:00pm
Partners Practice
Group Presentation Practice

Module II: The Dance

Learn movement exercises that reveal to the participants their own non verbal strategies and movement preferences and how to best utilize and adapt them to stay be safe & sound.

First Session- 9:30am–12:30pm
Welcome
Laban exercises: How to distiguish movement elements of domination using space, time and weight.

Study Break/Lunch: 12:30pm-2pm

Second Session- 2:00pm–5:00pm

Module IV: Safe & Sound Seminar

Final Presentations
Each participants will have the opportunity to lead a portion of the workshop to invited guests.
